Marlene Holloway
Marlene graduated from Copiah-Lincoln Community College in 1997 with her Associate Degree in Nursing and completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center-School of Nursing in 2016. She became the RN Care Coordinator for the Adult Congenital Heart Program (ACHP) at UMMC since it was established in 2014. Having a child who was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect sparked her interest in congenital heart disease, which is a major reason she enjoys working with this patient population.
Her focus throughout her nursing career has always been to provide the best care for the patients. Education is a tool she uses on a daily basis to ensure patients get the best up to date information so they can make better healthcare decisions. Working closely with the rest of the ACHP team members, she feels her input is valued and respected. In her 23 years of her nursing career she has never experienced a team more dedicated and focused on taking care of the patient than the one found in the ACHP. She feels it is a privilege and a blessing to work with such a specialized cardiac community.
